End-to-end e-commerce platform supporting the growth of one of Britain’s most recognisable artists

Project image

Jim Moir, known to many across the UK as Vic Reeves, has built a significant and credible career as an artist, with a growing body of work that now reaches collectors, galleries and audiences well beyond social media. What began as a modest website selling a small number of prints has grown into a substantial e-commerce platform that supports a prolific and increasingly high-profile art business.

As Jim’s presence in the art world has expanded, the website has evolved alongside it. From early releases shared quietly from his home studio to nationally recognised exhibitions and shows in galleries such as the Lady Lever, JimMoir.com has become a key part of how the work is presented, sold and discovered. Today, the platform supports a growing catalogue, a loyal collector base and the wider visibility of Jim’s work as an artist in his own right.

The brief

The original website launched under the VicReeves.tv name, at a time when the commercial side of Jim’s artwork was still relatively small. As interest in the work grew, the platform needed to evolve from a simple shop into something much more capable.

The challenge was broader than e-commerce alone. The site needed to support a steadily expanding catalogue of originals and prints, frequent artwork launches, accurate presentation, fast turnaround times and a growing audience. It also needed to reflect Jim’s shift from a broadcaster with an art hobby into a serious, exhibiting artist with a clear identity in the contemporary art space.

As that transition became more established, the platform outgrew the legacy VicReeves.tv branding. We rebuilt and relaunched the website as JimMoir.com, creating a stronger and more appropriate foundation for the next stage of growth.

Our approach

From the outset, our role has extended well beyond development. We have worked closely with Jim and his art agent, Michael Hogben, to support a seamless workflow around the release, presentation and promotion of the work.

This is an all-in-one e-commerce solution built around the realities of a growing artist-led business. We handle the artwork in-house, including measuring, photographing and preparing pieces for launch, as well as writing descriptions and ensuring each work is presented accurately and professionally at market. That process allows new originals and prints to be brought online quickly without compromising quality or consistency.

We have also approached the platform as a long-term growth asset rather than a static shopfront. The website sits at the centre of a broader ecosystem that supports Jim’s art career, helping convert attention into collectors, build audience trust and create a reliable direct-to-consumer sales channel.

Design & development

The platform was originally launched as VicReeves.tv before being rebuilt and relaunched as JimMoir.com as Jim’s art career continued to mature. Throughout that evolution, the focus has been on creating an e-commerce experience that is commercially robust while keeping the artwork front and centre.

The website is designed to support regular launches, a constantly growing catalogue and a smooth buying experience for collectors. Product pages are structured to showcase works clearly, while the wider platform makes it easy to browse originals, prints and new releases in a way that feels coherent as the body of work expands.

Operationally, the system supports a fast-moving workflow. Because Jim is such a prolific artist, new pieces need to be processed, uploaded and published efficiently. Our in-house handling of the artwork, imagery and descriptions means the platform can keep pace with that output and maintain a high standard of presentation across the site.

As the audience has grown, the website has remained a dependable central hub for Jim’s art business, supporting both day-to-day sales and broader visibility around exhibitions, launches and campaigns.

Launch & delivery

The relaunch from VicReeves.tv to JimMoir.com marked an important step in aligning the platform with Jim’s identity as an artist. It gave the website a stronger long-term footing and better reflected the scale and seriousness of the work being produced.

Delivery has been ongoing rather than fixed to a single launch date. The platform continues to grow alongside the business, with new artworks, print releases and catalogue updates added on a regular basis. That continued support has been essential in maintaining momentum and ensuring the site evolves in step with Jim’s output and audience.

Outcome

JimMoir.com has helped support Jim Moir’s growth from a small-scale online art presence into a successful and increasingly prominent e-commerce art platform. What began as a simple website selling a handful of prints has become a key commercial tool supporting a growing catalogue, a larger customer base and a stronger position in the art world.

The platform does more than process sales. It supports discovery, audience growth and the professional presentation of Jim’s work at scale. Alongside the website itself, our wider digital support has helped strengthen the surrounding ecosystem that drives attention and demand.

That includes building the JimMoirArt Instagram presence from the ground up, which has now grown to more than 60,000 followers, as well as supporting email campaigns, Google Ads and content creation that continue to expand Jim’s reach and bring new audiences into the platform. While that wider marketing and audience growth work deserves its own dedicated case study, it forms an important part of the overall success around the website.

For Bryter Digital, this project is a strong example of what long-term digital partnership looks like when development, content, operations and marketing all work together. Not simply a website, but a complete e-commerce platform supporting the continued growth of a successful contemporary artist.
