We’ve launched a brand new business networking group in Canterbury that is all about getting away from your desk and screen and getting outside into nature with some four-legged friends. Meet the Canterbury Netwalk: a relaxed, monthly walking networking event open to businesses across Canterbury and Kent.
Our First Canterbury Netwalk: what happened
Last month we held our first ever netwalk and it exceeded every expectation. The sun was shining down on us as we set off from Lily’s Social Kitchen, headed into the beautiful Westgate Gardens and up along the River Stour for a relaxed scenic walk.
We had a brilliant mix of businesses from across the community, from sole traders just starting out to growing teams and established organisations (as well as eight wonderful pooches). All walking together at a relaxed pace through some of the city’s most iconic scenery.
After the walk we headed back to Lily’s for a well-earned lunch, where contacts could be swapped and conversations naturally continued. It was a fantastic morning and we left already looking forward to the next one.
Why walking networking works
Traditional networking has its place but it can feel formal, transactional and pressured. The Canterbury Netwalk flips that on its head. Walking side by side is a proven way to open people up, movement gets the creative juices flowing and conversations happen more organically. Throw in some friendly dogs as the ultimate ice breakers and its a winning combination for more genuine connections and authentic, meaningful chats.
Our Partners
A special mention to our partners in this venture at Lily’s Social Kitchen, a wonderful Canterbury venue that champions community and inclusivity. And Handelsbanken Canterbury, who bring a refreshingly relationship-first approach to banking. We are proud to be working with them to bring our ‘Petworking’ events to Canterbury.
